Induction Furnace for Forging

Induction Furnace for Forging

Induction furnace is the main force of heating equipment in the forging industry, especially the die forging industry, and has become an indispensable first choice for automatic forging heating production lines. Why is the position of induction furnaces so important in the forging industry?

1. Forging is a method of processing metal mechanical forgings or forging billets under impact or pressure with the help of tools or dies. In order to reduce the striking force of the forging equipment and improve the performance index of the metal, it is necessary to heat the forging billet, and an induction heating furnace is used.

2. The shape and dimensional stability of the forging billet after induction furnace heating are good, and the comprehensive mechanical properties are good. The obvious advantages of forgings are high toughness, reasonable fiber structure, and small performance changes between parts; the intrinsic quality of forgings is related to the processing history, which cannot be surpassed by any metal processing technology.

3. The induction furnace has good heat penetration performance and uniform temperature. After the metal forging blank is plastically deformed, it can eliminate the internal defects of the blank, such as forging (welding) empty, compaction and loosening, carbide broken, non-metallic inclusions and distribute along the deformation direction, improve or eliminate component segregation, etc., and obtain uniform and fine low-magnification and high-magnification structures.

4. Castings obtained by heating metal materials in an induction furnace can obtain more accurate dimensions and more complex shapes than forgings, but it is difficult to eliminate defects such as pores, voids, composition segregation, and non-metallic inclusions; although the compressive strength of castings is strong High, the toughness is insufficient, and it is difficult to use under the condition of large tensile stress.

The parts obtained by the machining method have high dimensional accuracy and smooth surface, but the internal flow line of the metal is often cut off, which is easy to cause stress corrosion, and the ability to withstand alternating tension and compression stress is poor.

5. Forging blanks heated by induction furnaces have a wide range of applications. Almost all the main force-bearing parts in motion are formed by forging after heating the forging billet in an induction heating furnace, but the greater impetus for the development of induction heating furnace technology comes from the automobile manufacturing industry, the automobile manufacturing industry and later the aircraft manufacturing industry.

The size and quality of forgings are getting bigger and bigger, the shape is more and more complex and fine, the material of forgings is getting wider and wider, and the forging difficulty is getting more and more difficult.

This is because modern heavy industries and transportation industries pursue forged products with long service life and high reliability.

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace This article introduces the faults and solutions of medium frequency furnace. 1. Fault phenomenon: large DC current, low DC voltage, and if the voltage, dull equipment sound, over-current protection. Analysis and treatment: the thyristor with one arm of the inverter bridge may be short-circuited or open-circuited, resulting in the operation of the three-arm inverter bridge. Use an oscilloscope to observe the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on the four bridge arms of the inverter bridge. If the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on one bridge arm is a line, the thyristor has been through; if it is a sine wave, the thyristor has not been through. Replace the through thyristor; find out the reason why the thyristor is not turned on. 2. Fault phenomenon: when the heavy load cold furnace is started, all electrical parameters and sounds are normal, but the power cannot be raised, and overcurrent protection. Analysis and

Advantages and Disadvantages of Electric Arc Furnace and Induction Furnace Steelmaking

Electric Arc Furnace VS Induction Furnace Steelmaking Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of electric arc furnace and induction  furnace steelmaking 1. The induction furnace heats up quickly and has high thermal efficiency. The heat is generated inside the charge (steel liquid), so the heating is fast. In the arc furnace, the heat of the arc after the material is cleared must be transferred to the molten steel through the slag, which is indirect heating. Thermal efficiency is poor. The furnace is in the shape of a basin, and a large part of the heat of the arc is lost through the furnace cover and the furnace wall. 2. The oxidative burning loss of elements in induction furnace steelmaking is less. Because there is no ultra-high temperature action of the arc in the induction furnace steelmaking, the burning rate of the elements in the steel is low. 3. In the induction furnace steelmaking, the composition and temperature of the molten steel are relatively uniform.
