How to Choose Different Frequencies For Medium Frequency Induction Furnace?

Today, I will introduce to you how to choose different frequencies for the intermediate frequency induction furnace.

The induction furnace whose frequency is in the range of 150-10000 Hz is called the intermediate frequency induction furnace. The intermediate frequency induction furnace is a special smelting equipment suitable for smelting high-quality steel and alloys. It has the advantages of fast melting speed, high production efficiency, strong adaptability, flexible use, good electromagnetic stirring effect, convenient start-up and operation, and molten steel is covered by slag (reducing atmospheric Pollution to molten steel) and other advantages. The complete set of equipment of the intermediate frequency induction furnace includes the power supply and electrical control part, furnace body part, transmission device, and water cooling system.

The intermediate frequency induction furnace is especially suitable for large, medium, and small furnaces with a capacity of tens of tons of 10kg. It is suitable for melting steel, cast iron, copper, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals and their alloys and for heat preservation of liquid metals. It has strong adaptability to furnace materials and is suitable for For intermittent operation, the furnace structure and usage are similar to power frequency centerless induction furnaces.

Since the 1970s, with the increasing power and reliability of high-standard, static, and metal-saving thyristor intermediate-frequency power supplies, intermediate-frequency furnaces have developed rapidly at home and abroad. Not only have obvious advantages in small and medium capacity, but even in large In terms of capacity, it is also replacing the power frequency centerless induction furnace. The medium-frequency induction furnace uses a single layer of copper tube to make an induction coil, and there is a crucible knotted with refractory material in the water-cooled induction coil to accommodate the molten metal. An induction furnace usually consists of four parts: power supply, furnace body (mainly induction coil and crucible made of refractory material in induction coil), capacitor bank (used to improve power factor), control, and operating system.

According to different output frequencies, intermediate frequency induction furnaces can be roughly divided into very high frequency, high frequency, super audio frequency, intermediate frequency, etc. Different heating processes require different frequencies. If the frequency is wrongly selected, it may not be able to meet the heating requirements, such as heating time being too long, power consumption, low work efficiency, uneven heating, the temperature can not meet the requirements, and it is easy to cause damage to the workpiece. scrapped.

Heating intermediate frequency electric furnaces are mostly used for diathermy or quenching of various workpieces. Taking quenching as an example, the shallower the quenched layer of the workpiece is, the higher the frequency should be, and the deeper the quenched layer, the lower the frequency should be. In the same way, during diathermy, the smaller the diameter of the workpiece, the higher the frequency required; conversely, the larger the diameter, the lower the frequency required. When used for brazing, drill bits, turning tools, reamers, milling cutters, drills, etc., and composite welding of different materials at the bottom of stainless steel pots, the larger the welding volume, the lower the frequency should be; on the contrary, the smaller the welding point, the frequency should be higher.

When the intermediate frequency furnace is smelting. Small capacity below 1kg can choose the high frequency, below 20kg can choose super audio frequency, and above 10kg can choose the intermediate frequency to be very efficient according to Induction Furnace Efficiency Calculation.

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace

Troubleshooting of Medium Frequency Furnace This article introduces the faults and solutions of medium frequency furnace. 1. Fault phenomenon: large DC current, low DC voltage, and if the voltage, dull equipment sound, over-current protection. Analysis and treatment: the thyristor with one arm of the inverter bridge may be short-circuited or open-circuited, resulting in the operation of the three-arm inverter bridge. Use an oscilloscope to observe the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on the four bridge arms of the inverter bridge. If the voltage drop waveform of the thyristor on one bridge arm is a line, the thyristor has been through; if it is a sine wave, the thyristor has not been through. Replace the through thyristor; find out the reason why the thyristor is not turned on. 2. Fault phenomenon: when the heavy load cold furnace is started, all electrical parameters and sounds are normal, but the power cannot be raised, and overcurrent protection. Analysis and

Advantages and Disadvantages of Electric Arc Furnace and Induction Furnace Steelmaking

Electric Arc Furnace VS Induction Furnace Steelmaking Comparison of advantages and disadvantages of electric arc furnace and induction  furnace steelmaking 1. The induction furnace heats up quickly and has high thermal efficiency. The heat is generated inside the charge (steel liquid), so the heating is fast. In the arc furnace, the heat of the arc after the material is cleared must be transferred to the molten steel through the slag, which is indirect heating. Thermal efficiency is poor. The furnace is in the shape of a basin, and a large part of the heat of the arc is lost through the furnace cover and the furnace wall. 2. The oxidative burning loss of elements in induction furnace steelmaking is less. Because there is no ultra-high temperature action of the arc in the induction furnace steelmaking, the burning rate of the elements in the steel is low. 3. In the induction furnace steelmaking, the composition and temperature of the molten steel are relatively uniform.
